The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (NCSBI) is the agency responsible for collating and publishing statewide crime statistics in North Carolina. According to its annual reports, Greenville City registered a total of 3,294 crimes in 2019, consisting of 440 property crimes and 2,854 property crimes. This represents a 4% increase in total crimes from the previous year. In detail, the violent crimes comprised five cases of murder, 17 rapes, 94 robberies, and 324 aggravated assaults.
