Crime Statistics

The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) compiles an annual report of crime statistics for all counties in the state. In 2017, Columbus County reported a total number of 1,130 crimes, including 117 violent crimes and 1,013 property crimes. The violent crimes reported include 4 murders, 7 rapes, 15 robberies, and 91 aggravated assaults. Whereas property crimes reported include 547 burglaries, 398 larcenies, and 68 motor vehicle thefts.
