Crime Statistics

The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) compiles an annual report of crime statistics for all counties in the state. In 2017, Davie County reported a total number of 649 crimes, including 65 violent crimes and 582 property crimes. The violent crimes reported included seven rapes, six robberies, and 52 aggravated assaults. Whereas property crimes reported included 187 burglaries, 359 larcenies, and 36 motor vehicle thefts. The crime statistics of Davie County in 2017 showed a slight decline in the total number of crimes reported in the county over a 5-year period. Between 2013 and 2017, there was a decline in 3 out of 7 major crimes. The crime rates of robbery, burglary, and larceny declined by 46%, 21%, and 2% respectively. There was however an increase in aggravated assaults by 37%. The rates of murder and rape in the county remained the same.
